The next cruise is Culvers in Morton this Saturday night, 5/10/08, from 6 - 9pm. Hope to see you there.
The cruise Saturday night at Steak & Shake turned out really great with around 50 hot rods showing up. The rain held off and it was just a little bit chilly. The manager, LeAnn, came through like she always does with 7 great door prizes to help out with our 50-50. The lucky 50-50 winner, Jim Vance, turned back his winnings which resulted in a total of $91.00 that will go to the Children’s Hospital. We signed up another two new members into the Club and past members renewed their memberships and received their 2008 Club tee shirts. Hope to see you at our next cruise.
The cruise scheduled for 4/12/08 at Culvers in Morton has been cancelled due to the weather. Hopefully we will have better weather for our next cruise.
Some of you might have noticed that we already have $1000.00 showing under 2008 collections for the Children’s Hospital. This generous donation was solicited by Ralph Cotton during his annual New Year’s Day Cruise from the American Water Company based out of Cherry Hill, NJ. We would like to thank Ralph and the American Water Company for this great start for the 2008 year of giving to worthy organizations.
We would like to thank Jerry Haven and the rest of the Early Ford Club for allowing us to setup a table at their great car show. Many of our members attended the show and renewed their 2008 membership with the Midwest Cruisers and received their 2008 Club tee shirt. We also signed up 6 new members who will be joining us this year at our cruises. Be sure to check out the cruise schedule on our website as our first cruise is coming up in April.
Check out the 2008 cruise schedule that is now posted under the Upcoming Events Banner that is in red directly above this post. We also have just received our 2008 Club tee shirts which will be available at the Early Ford Show this March 22nd at the East Peoria Covention Center. The Early Ford show has a lot more than great cars on display and if you haven’t been to it before you should plan on attending. If you can’t make it to the show, Dick Young will have the shirts available at our cruises which start in April. Hope to be seeing all of you soon.
The After Christmas Christmas Party held at the Spring Bay American Legion was everything that we hoped for. Great food (and lots of it), good music by Scott Ireland and plenty of door prizes for everyone. The 100/100 raffle went to the bartender who pocketed $255.00 for her $5.00 investment. Our 2008 Club tee shirt design was on display and I heard nothing but positive comments about it. We will have a table setup at the Early Ford Show this March where we hope to see a lot of our members. We plan on having our Club tee shirts at the show for members that have already paid their dues for 2008. So if you plan on attending the show and you haven’t paid your 2008 dues yet you can pay your dues and recieve your 2008 Club tee shirt while your there.
Invitations have been mailed out to all members for our Club 2008 After Christmas Christmas Party. In it you will find a club newsletter along with a nomination form for 2008 officers. You will also be able to pay your 2008 dues and order Club tee shirts. If you do not receive a letter by January 1st, 2008, please contact me at 822-8231 or one of the other officers to get one. The Party reservations need to be back to me by no later than January 8th, 2008. I hope that everyone had a great Christmas and will have a marvelous New Year!
